Vascular wall-on-a-chip

The main goal of this project is the establishment of a functional human vascular wall model in a microfluidic analysis platform to deepen our understanding of the interplay between the vascular microenvironment and corresponding tissue behavior.
The proposed human vascular wall model will be used to study endothelial dysfunctions including hypertension, angiogenesis and Type I allergic hypersensitivities. The established 3D vascular co-culture model will be evaluated by monitoring tissue contraction and relaxation events after exposure to vascular tone variations and Type I allergic reactions.
